Lecture on Spring-heeled Jack

Mike has agreed to deliver a lecture on Spring-heeled Jack to the Barnes and Mortlake History Society on 5 February 2011.

The lecture, which is the Society's keynote Annual Lecture, will take place in the Methodist Hall in Barnes at 2.30pm. Barnes is, of course, the place where the earliest known reports of Spring-heeled Jack emerged in the early autumn of 1837; Jack was reputed to haunt the area around the old cemetry on the common there, later expanding his activities to both east and west along the banks of the Thames.

Our understanding is that a small charge may be made for tickets to this event; more news as we have it.
